Default O2 sensor '00 silverado

i tried to replace my O2 sensor yesterday and broke the tool!! (yes.... i was turning it the correct way) it was one of the sideways tools not a long socket. anybody know a trick to loosening the sensor? should the exhaust be hot? i'm stuck... any idea's?

Soak it w/PB & let it sit for awhile & try again. You can buy an attachment for an air hammer from Lisle tools that works awesome.

You can heat the area around the hole with a torch. You can cut the wire off and use the box end of a 7/8 wrench. You can break the sensor off and use a socket and a breaker bar. I have seen them pull the threads out of the hole when they are very tight, if this happens you can fix the hole with a spark plug tap.
