My truck had the longest time trying to fix the code problem. I have a code reader. and it could clear the codes but always have a YELLOW light. Tells me that there is still a problem. I changed the Evap Canister Vent Solenoid Valve this morning, and now I have a GREEN light! NO CODES!!!!!!!!! YAH!! I used a new one from a Grand Am. The Truck one was $185.00 CAD plus all the taxes. Being cheap as I am,... I spent $58.00 CAD with all the taxes and used 5/8" hose between Vent and Charcol Canister.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!

I don't mind getting dirty so if it goes again I just change the ECVSV.

 

Well it was certainly a test last weekend. Was gone all weekend driving on highways and roads. Filling up the gas tank many times and NOT ONCE did the DIC come on for "tighten fuel cap" or check engine light come on!!

One thing that does puzzle my mind is.... that still the "service 4Wheel Drive" would come on,But,...... I had cleaned the ground strap for the fuel filler pipe. and there has been no warning and all works GREAT!... but!..... I will take it!
