is it possible
thank you for all the help on the other threads and thank you for your thoughts on this one.... ok i have a 283 with 327 camel hump heads... i need to know if a 350 intake manifold will be putting to much gas and air for my little engine?? i really need to get more then 10-15 MPG... some times its less then 5MPG can any one tell me if theres a 4 barrol carb i can buy for better gas milage, or can i stick the 350 intake on her??

you should try putting a throttle body on it like its supposed to have. I mean if you want the carb. thats your decision but you will get better gas mileage w/ fuel injection. try buying a new intake tha supports your motor and a throttle body. do you still have the in tank fuel pump? or are you running a manual one on the side of the block below the heaDS? i would try the throttle body or even selling that motor you got and getting a 350 or 305 its up to you but if it was me i would go that route. plus 350s are a dime a dozen there all over look on ebay
yea i have a 305 i wanna rebuild. then im going to rebuild my 283 and stick it in a 85 s10. yes i still have the pump in my tank "unpluged" and yes i am running the manual fuel pump... i would like to put the TBI back on thats why i was asking if i could put a 350 intake on it lol when i got the truckthe motor was bad so i still got the intake i just dont want to buy gaskets to find out that the 350 intake was to much for it.... do you know where i can get a intake for the 89 TBI for a 283???
autozone sells one that is for chevy small blocks(262-400) Then you can just put a throttle body on it from any chevy years 88-95. Look on ebay a intake manifold for chevy small blocksmeant for throttlbody will fit your engine. If it is meant for throttle body it will take it you can not put one on it that was meant for a carb!! take the intake off your 305 if its not carbed and put it on there!!!
