have a 2003 chevy silverado Z-71 with power steering whine
flushed several times/ replaced pump 2 times / replace steering gear box / bypassed power steering cooler but can still hear the whine what else can i do? Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

 

is there an idler pulley right before the steering pump? the added stress of turning the wheel (the load on the pump) could make a worn idler whine, also is it lined upproperly? even a little offset with a serpentine can make it whine (u never know the parts store people could have given u a mid 90's f series pump, just kiddin ;P)

 

my 350 made the whining noise and it when up and down with motor speed.

it was the alternator, had to have the diodes replaced then all was good.
