I plan on buying a 7x12 or 7x14 V nose cargo trailer. Do I have enough truck to pull eitherof these, they will not be loaded down. I will pulling it with my 08 NBS crew cab. I have the factory towing package. Trailer will be carring a small generator and my RC (remote control) stuff and a few small tools.

Check the tow rating on the hitch reciever, and make sure what weightit can handle. The class III that used to be on my half ton was only ratedup to 4,000 lbs (non-weight distributing) and 10,000 with a weight distributing hitch, and I tow a 7x12 enclosed cargo trail rated for 5,500, so I had to upgrade my hitch reciever to a class IV to tow it.

It depends, I wouldn't think that they would put a class III on 2500 or especailly a 3500, those should have a class IV or V. It should say right on the reciever what class it is and what its load capacities are. Also do you have a brake controller for it yet?

I would suggest one that is inertia controlled, rather than the time delay units. I had a time delay unit in my other truck and it was ok until I had to do an emergency stop at which point the controller did nothing for me becuase that one second or so of delay is FOREVER when your slamming on the brakes. The inertia controlled units are instant and they slow the trailer as you brake, so basically the harder you brake the harder the trailer brakes which equates to a safer stop.

http://www.tekonsha.com/product1.html
The ones that are listed under 'Proportional Trailer Brake Controls'
WhatI have personally is the P3 (http://www.tekonsha.com/p3.html) and love it, very easy tosee and setup. I have read a lot ofreviews that state the P3 functions identical to the Prodigy(http://www.tekonsha.com/prodig.html), it justhas an up dated display.
