Question about MPG and lift, etc.

I know the tires do, which I suppose I could put smaller ones on it but that'd cost more unless I got those sold.
Regardless, and I should probably be able to answer this, but why does the lift reduce MPG so much? Mainly because it makes it less aerodynamic or what? (Lol aerodynamic large trucks)

And once again my interest is sparked as I read this on another ad...
Same Engine...Lying?

Well hell, now I know why. Replied back, says it has 4.56 gears in front and rear. No wonder.
Now I'm getting ideas in my head about just getting the gear ratio toned down....
How low could I go? 4.10? I wouldn't be towing anything (at least in the near future).

He said it was professionally done. Check if they updated the brakes. Rotor size etc. Rolling mass on the tires it has now are much heavier than stock tire/rim. Increases your stopping distance allot. The brakes on that truck were designed for 265 x 16 or 17" rims. Not the over sized one on it now.
