Default Radio Swap

I have a 07 1500 ext cab it did not come with a cd player , however i just purchased a cd player that is identical to my current radio looks is it gonna be a plug and play or is it difficult?

it will plug in but you will have to program it using the tech2 and SPS programming

If it has been previously installed in another vehicle then a dealer will need to program it for you as mentioned above but if it is a brand new unit it will be plug and play.

Side note: If your new radio has the "CAT" button on the right side then it is also steering wheel radio control ready, you can buy a steering wheel off Ebay reasonably and it only takes about 5 minutes to swap the wheel the wheel out, the trucks are pre-wired for this feature.

ok how much you think im gonna spend on the programming? and do i need to put it in 1st then take truck 2 dealer or just take new cd player?

put it in first, that way you don't have to pay for re&re.

They shouldn't be charging you much more thn a half hour labour
