On the 08s what are the best rear end for towing?

depends on what you have. if its a diesel the 3:73 is going to be best for gas mileage & pulling.
If its a 6.0 2500hd 4:10s
if its 5.3 1500 i wouldnt do it but if your pulling alot. 4:10s

I was looking for the rearends that come standard on the truck, sorry. This is also a 5.3L.

depends on what you are pulling and how often. 3.73's area good all around gear. if you want a little more grunt and dont mind running higher rpm's on the highway then go 4.10's stay away from 3.42 at all cost

no youll be ok, its just not a great towing/power gear. its great for highway driving. my 06 w/5.3 and 3.42's would tach like 1800rpms at 75mph. for towing, 3.73 and 4.10 just allows the engine to not work as hard. use the tow/haul button when towing heavier loads and if you dont have a transmission cooler (ie the factory tow package) then that would be a good ad on.

i have a 2000 model with a 5.3 and a 3.42 and i pull alot and it does fine but the 3.73 would definatly help it get rolling better

I have the factory tow package, and what I will be hauling will not real heavy.
