Bought daughter 2009 Chevy Aveo. Driving on highway yesterday, an occassional loud 'squeel' or sound like something possibly rubbing tire up front. A casual inspection shows nothing, and I will jack it up to inspect better today or tomorrow.

with the 'quality' of these little cars, I'm wondering if this is a common problem and what it might be before I get into the guessing game if nothing's apparent? I will do relatively simple maintenance and replacement, but hate having to fight about paying shops for 'repairs' that do not solve the problem. I want a straight answer(s).
