Default Remote Keyless Entry With Au3 5b5 And W/o Au0, Techs, Please Help!

I have an 2008 Silverado LS with the RPO AU3 and 5B5. I have read document ID# 2196842 on techline that states that remote keyless is available by reflashing the RCDLR and BCM and purchasing keyless fobs. I called techline customer support center and they told me that my truck already has the RCDLR since I have tire pressure management system. So it was my thought that this would make it the same as the trucks that come with option AU0.

I want to have nstall the advanced 2 way remote start p/n 17802087 which is stated to add remote start to trucks with the AU0 option code that did not have nor were previously wired for remote start. The kit comes with the following per the GM techline installation manual:

Qty

Description

1 Remote Control Door Lock, 2-Way Remote Start & Info Display Receiver (2-Way RCDLR)

1 2-Way Remote Start and Door Lock Transmitter (With Information Display)

1 2-Way Remote Start, Door Lock & Info Display Antenna

1 2-Way Advanced Remote Start Owner Manual

1 Hood Latch

1 Hood Switch Wiring Harness

The only reason given by GM that this would not work was because I do not have option AU0 however techline confirmed that I have the RCDLR. I find it hard to believe that they made a specific BCM just for cruise control when i have onstar, xm, power door locks, windows etc... Any techs out there know what would be missing from my truck that I could buy to get this to work? Again i want to know what specific part number is different so that I can buy it and intall it. I tried to attach as much of the info that I have read as possible. Thanks!!

It could be possible to reprogram remote control reciever and the BCMto accept remotes. All 07-up NBS silverados have a remote control recievers (for low tire pressure sensors). They work on the same frequency but transmitte a sensor ID along with tire pressure.
The remote start upgrade should work since it has a 2 way transmiting antenna and a hood switch with wiring.
The only thing different with the remote start compatible trucks and non compatilbe trucks is the non-compatible trucks do not have a extended range antenna (taken care of by the 2 way antenna) and no hood pin switch (added to by the upgrade kit).
The only problem I see is the BCM is locked out to reflashing.
I have not had time to play with these configurations but I will get a hold of a trcuk that is not remote start ready and check.

Thanks Charlie, any help would be great! It seems to me that with this kit, GM willing, that any of the NBS trucks could add remote start. So getting a code from GM to unlock my BCM is the limiting factor here correct? I think what is the most frustrating about this is that it is a brand new GM truck with a brand new GM part and basically they are saying no even though everything seems to be there that is needed. I would be willing to compensate you for your time if you can confirm this kit will be able to add remote start. Also, I can get parts at discount so the kit is $210 instead of the $299 the dealer wants.
