I am the happy new owner of an 04 Silverado LS with 45000. Looks nice and runs well. However, I cannot get the remote locks to work. I put in new batteries and went through the synchronization process as described in the manual, but nothing works.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

Here's something you might try. GM has a bulletin out that the remote keyless entry (RKE) system may be in the wrong mode so it cannot learn and synchronize. To reset the mode, hold the unlock and panic alarm buttons down simultaneously for 10 seconds. Then release the buttons and perform the synchronization procedure as per the manual. If that doesn't work, you will probably have to take it to a dealership because reprogramming apparently requires a scan tool.
