Default Question about Removing Drop in Bedliner

I have a 2007 Silverado NBS LTZ and I just ordered a Lund Genesis Trifold Tonneau cover. I noticed that I have leaves in the holes where the hooks are and want to remove my bedliner to give it a good cleaning before I put the cover on.
My question is how easy is this to do, is it just a matter of removing the screws that hold it in place or is there more to it?

Thanks

Hi B-Man,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

There isn't a lot of rocket science to it,

but be prepared to find a bit more of a mess than

you intended to.

In many instances, the drop-in liners hold in condensation, and the bed

rusts, as well as getting accumulations of dirt and grime under them.

Nothing an afternoon with a grinder, Simple Green, and Rustoleum can't cure,

though.

If it's the stock drop-in, I wouldn't think there are screws in it, mine don't have 'em anyway. It's not difficult to remove, may take a couple of people. I'd like to remove mine, but I have 2 toolboxes installed on my truck, hassle to pull out.

Remove any screws, if any.....if it's an over the rail style, there should be for circle cups, or four little clips near the top of the rail in each corner. Remove those (which can be tricky), remove the liner......if it's an under the rail style, standing at the tailgate, lift the center of flooring at the gate straight up. This will allow you to pull the rear corner out from under one side of the rail. Try to get as much out possible while pulling up in the center. Once you have one side out from under the rail, the opposite side will just follow while you pull it out of the truck. You can do this by yourself without causing damage, but two people are also better. GL

it works best with a person to help you. If you going to clean it might as well wax it while your in there.

Thanks for all the replies, I took out the 5 screws and with a little elbow grease I got the Bedliner off, as I suspected there was a good amount of crap under there, cleaned both the bed and the underside of the Bedliner, dried both really good and re installed with cover. Did it on my own but definitely would of been easier with help. Again thanks for all the help
