Default Replaced fuel pump, now what?

So, I have a 2000 Z with the 5.3. I ran the truck out of gas like a dip**** and had to replace the fuel pump. I yanked the bed off, replaced the pump with a new one ($300, REDICULOUS). I went ahead and changed the relay/fuse and filter while I was wrenching. Now the pump won't pump. It is the second brand new pump I put in her. I had the same problem with the 1st pump I bought and assumed the pump to be faulty. I bought a multimeter only to find that I'm not getting power to the pump. I can't figure out why. Any suggestions? I've tried "reseting" the sytem by disconnecting the neg. battery cable for some time, then reconnecting it.

The wiring all seems fine. Looks stock. I can't help but think it's some sort of computer problem

It's possible but I would be surprised.

Have you checked at the relay to see if there is power to and from it ?

You can't test wires by looking at them; break out the old multimeter and go to town.
