Revs on its own over 40 mph
Hey guys, my 98 chevy c1500 5.7 died on me one morning when I was going to work. Couldn't figure it out and replace some things. Well come to find out it was just my crank sensor so i replaced it. while i was at it i replaced my distributor also. got everything top dead center and installed my distrib. well it took a couple tries to start (need to get a shim for the starter I think) and it ran and idle fine. when driving, the rpm revs about 1000 rpm by itself around 40 mph and goes back to normal. did some digging and some say it could be the torque converter but i dont see it being that since the speed is under 55 and no other signs that it could be that. I also changed the timing chain while i was at it. the only code that comes up is the p1345 code and says the crank sensor is loose so I removed and reinstalled multiple times and it still says the same thing. It has to be something small so i dont want to bring it in. Any advise is appreciated.
