Hi guys. I've got a 2000 Silverado 1500 Z71, 5.3L 4WD. It starts and runs fine up to about 2000rpm, then it starts breaking up. After it warms up it runs smooth up to 3500 or 4000rpm. I checked the codes and the only thing I got was a P0336 crank position sensor. Could that be the problem, and why would it change with the motor being cold or warmed up? Any insights?

It could be the sensor, however I believe it is a CPS reference signal problem. That truck may have two CPS's not sure, but it sounds like it as one controls speeds up to 2k rpm. Never figured why chevy felt it needed to use two CPS other than aftermarket parts sales.
