I was wondering if anyone has ran royal purple in there 5.3L and had any problems or if they would suggest using it?

im sure many people would suggest to go with it. oil change intervals are alot longer than conventional oil. only bad thing about synthetic is that once you purple you never go back. once you put synthetic in the motor there is no conventional oil going back in after that. but i've heard royal purp is the best out there over castrol syntec hence why its so damn expensive. lol

Lol Yeah I have heard that too about syntec but I also heard they proved it wrong on myth busters. I wouldnt go back to conventional just to be on the safe side.

I switched to AMSOIL synthetic merely because I got tired of crawling under the truck every 3K miles. I still screw on a new filter every 6K or so. If you do the math, even without calculating the cost of your own labor, you still save a ton of money.

RP has a good reputation. Many people swear by it.

yea definitely. i think people swear by synthetic period. except for mobil 1 haha. mainly amsoil, castrol,and rp.

Ok I think Im going to try Royal Purple. I also heard they did a test with two same engines. One with RP and one with something else and supposedly got 8 extra HP. I might change all fluids to RP actually

only thing that the owners manual says to not change is the front diff. gotta keep that at 75w. but im running rp in the rear diff. i think 90w no sure.
