Default Service 4x4, ABS/Brake Light, and Heater Fan-Weird One

I have a weird problem I hope you can help me with. I've got a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS Crew Cab. I can't say for sure when it started happening, but it was probably about a year and a half ago when the service 4x4 light came on along with the ABS/Brake light. The heater motor fan would also cut out as well. At first I found that if I restarted the truck the problem would go away. It started happening more frequently over time and I noticed that instead of restarting the truck, just moving the tilt steering up and down would clear the lights and start the fan motor back up. That's the workaround I've been using for the last year or so. I really want to fix this annoying problem.

I haven't tried replacing any parts yet and I've inspected the wiring in the steering column for any bare wires or loose connections thinking that since it goes away when I tilt the steering wheel up and down, there could be a grounding issue there. I've read in other forums that "Service 4WD" could be the 4x4 selector switch, but I don't know what that would have to do with the tilt steering workaround and it's relationship to the ABS/Brake lights and heater fan motor. I don't know if they are all related or separate problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
