Question service engine code P1345 cam positioner sensor

I have a 98 Silverado with 217,000 miles. I bought the truck new and it is in good condition. The service engine light comes on immediately after resetting codes with a scanner. The code that shows on the scanner is P1345 and in checking the codes it is the cam positioner/crank positioner correlation. I removed the distributor cap to replace the cam positioner sensor and found that one screw had come out on the distributor cap and the distributor cap was broken and a pin in the distributor cap was bent. I replaced the sensor, cap and rotor. I restarted the engine and had the same results with the service engine light. I replaced the crank positioner sensor with the same results.

It won't pass emissions with the service light on.

Is it possible that the metal plate on the distributor shaft was moved when the screw came loose and caused the damage to the rotor and cap?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you need to have the timing checked, It is done electronically with a scanner? but it is possible you may have distibutor gear damage

mine just was doing that a few weeks ago, the fix was to jump the gears and turn the distributor a little bit to set it. it had been bumped over when changing the fuel pressure regulator. i had the P1345 code too that came on each time it started and idled down to its 1000 rpm or so idle spot
