Default shocks

I have a 1990 K2500 that needs new shocks. I was looking at the Rancho RS5000 series. Anyone ever use these? Although I'm looking for a decent ride, I do use the truck for hauling firewood and sometimes I put a pretty heavy load on it. Is it possible to have both a good ride and still be able to haul a heavy load with these shocks? Are there better choices?

One thing that might help your decesion making is to understand that shocks do not support any weight unless they are the type with springs.
