Silverado issues- reverse and fuel gauge
#11
hey all,
so i called the dealer and they said all those bolts should be the same length. so they mustve been switched at some point. but regardless, i put the thing back together and ran it.
still no reverse.......... sometimes itll be engaged a little and move back slowly and weakly.... and sometimes if i rev it up, itll engage violently, and then stay engaged. i did this the other day and then drove in reverse around my entire neighborhood. so what do yall think?? its not a clogged filter, and its not the sun shell, right? because i have all my forward gears....?

Uff-Da!
Now, we gotta put a pressure gauge on this guy. One of two things are happening; either we don't have any reverse pressure or a clutch is giving it up.
At idle in reverse, you ought to see around 100lbs on the gauge.
Did you tear open that old filter? What was inside the folded paper?

i cut the filter in half last night. it was pretty dang clean between the two pieces of paper.... aside from the shavings of me cutting the filter open that is....
so back to the pressure gauge thing?
also, how long do you think a rebuild would take me? i have a garage shop at my house with tons of tools, and ive rebuild a transfer case before....
and any recommended all-in-one kits?
