I have a 92 silverado that is not starting. I drove it 3 hours down to college turned it off to move my stuff in and tried to start it to move it and it wouldn't start. Nothing happens, I have battery power, every so often when I try to start it I hear a clicking sound which seems to come from the starter. I replaced the starter a year ago though just trying to figure out what's wrong.

 

well of course check all connections , do you have an alarm in the truck it still may very well be the starter even if tis only a year old

 

A 92, one of my favorite body styles, a classic IMO, but those battery cables are 15+ years old now? Change your primary cables, you'll save a fark-ton on batteries, alternators, and starters. Mechanics generally neglect this simple repair on purpose because they know how much $$$$ leaving them as they are will bring them.
