i recely bought a 97 c1500 guy i bought it from says cargo light works onand off i changed bubs any idea were else to start

I'd look at the switch. If it were the fuse, then it would just quit working period.

I would agree with the switch and any plug/connections you can find, It wouldn't hurt to check the fuse to see if it is coroded and not making a good connection. If you can find the ground for that light that wouldn't be a bad place to look either. I am also going to add just to be sure, on those years you have to have the interior dome light on before the cargo light will come on.
