Default Snow plow

i have a 2004 silverado 5.3 half ton 4wd. I am considering putting a plow on my truck next winter. i am looking at a snowdogg model number MD80. The weight of the plow is 439 pounds. My front end is all MOOG brand parts. (lifetime warranty) so im not worried about replacing parts in my front end.

if anyone has any useful info please just let me know

I have a MD75. Originally on a 2011 Silverado W/T and now on a 2014 silverado double cab. Could not be happier with it, never a problem, but it is a medium duty not heavy duty, BUT on a 1500 it's perfect because it do not weigh 700 LBS. One thing I will say is MD80 is much more appropriate than MD75 (I am changing blade) also as soon as you get it, tighten the 2 spring trips to the tightest. Even at the tightest, it's not going to scrap any heavy ice, but otherwise it's a great plow. I have owned 2 heavy duty plows, and they were always too much for a 1500.
Best wishes

agree with that. 1500's aren't meant for the weight of a snow plow...so if you do it....go as light as possible. if you plan to drive a lot with it on...plan on irregular toe wear on the front tires...the weight will change the alignment angles.
