Default Sound system

I was thinking of putting a 8 - 10" woofer into my 2005 silverado extended cab. Possibly installing a base tube similar to a bazooka or making a box to fit under the seat and the depth/ length/ size according to the woofer air space. I also have an existing BOSE stereo system. Hard to wire to?

i have seen a connector to run a pre-amp connection off of the rear speaker wires for the bass, it adds alot of girth behind the stereo head though

Honestly, if you're going to go through the trouble to custom make your own box, I would suggest going with a more beefy subwoofer. I mean, a 10 is certainly going to get the job done if you have it set up right, which may suit your needs. That's the thing though, it is certainly about your needs, so if you want something for a little low end but nothing spectacular, then an 8 or 10 should do fine. I just don't think it would be worth the trouble to custom-make a box for an 8 or 10 inch sub, but thats just my opinion and you're certainly entitled to your own. Good luck!

I would recommend going with a new head unit were I to go with subs. RCA line converters won't get you the greatest sound out of them.

If you're interested in a custom box that would fit under the seat, then check out this website. They make high quality stuff. I have one with a 10" alpine under the back seat.

I made a custom box that fits perfectly under the rear seat of my 05 silverado extended cab. I used the specified inside dimensions for a sealed 10" sub , Sounds great. Used 3/4 high density fiber board then carpeted.

Where did you get the specifications for the box? I have been looking on Crutchfield for box dimensions.

Sorry it took me so long but I thought I'd post some pics of the box I made.
