I have a spare 350 and 2wd 4l60 (not 4l60e) engine and tranny out of a k2500 from 1988. What are these compatible with? Frame is shot but the engine and tranny are good. I believe the 4l60e began being produced in 1990-1991, so probably have to look for something prior to 1990? Was looking to swap these into a 1500 extended cab but can't find much info on what year model's they'd be compatible with. Also, can I add a transfer case (for 4wd) to a 4l60 from a 2wd truck?

is 350 throttle body fuel injected? if you have the harness and computer for the motor, then it can go into anything. if not, the last year of the throttle body was 94ish. as far as adding transfer case, it can be done, but you have to gut the entire trans to swap output shafts. easier to find 4wd 700r4.

 

The 4l60e started around 93.
You can put that engine in a truck upto a '94. Maybe '95.
