Default Spare Tire Lowering

I have a 2002 1500C Silverado, extended cab. The jack was missing, and thus the extensions to lower the spare. I have heard that extensions from 2000 on for the 1500 Silverado will fit this truck. Is that correct? (My 1997 did not).

Any good salvage yard will be able to cross reference parts across model years through their computer system. Many of the items such as jacks and extentions you find in salvage yard vehicles will be just like new but cost a lot less.
