Spare tire will not go UP
I have a 06 Silverado and someone tried to steal the the spare tire. They removed the locking mechanism from the rear bumper. The wire is hanging all the way down but the spare tire is still suspended somehow from the the spare tire hoist and is about 2 inches from the frame.
When trying to "reel" the wire up nothing happens (almost seems stripped) the wire will not go up or down.
Is there a theft deterent system in place on the spare tire hoist? Have you had a similar situation? Any thoughts on fixes?
