Default starting problem

Ok guys i have a 2000 c/k2500 5.7L. when i go to start the truck it will not start. i have checked the fuel presser (52) and replaced the fuel presser reg. the fuel pump was replaced and a tuneup. now here is where it gets funny. i can spray some carb cleaner in the t body and the truck will start and i found that if i turn the key on and off 5 - 10 times the truck will start. when the truck starts it runs fine.someone said to replace the MAF i do not want to just put something in and not fix it. need HELP!

Hi Cowboy888,

Welcome to the Chevy forums.

So what you're trying to say is that the battery is turning the engine over, and it's cranking away, but not starting?

The one way valve in the pump or the regulator is bad. The fuel pressure has to be leaking down. How quickly does if fall off when you turn off the key. Very common issue on the Chevy truck

Most of the time it is the pump. New does not mean good with any part.
