I noticed on my truck that the volume/seek buttons of the steering wheel control lights burnt out. I managed to replace just the bulbs themselves but you have to solder them. They are not LED. You can buy the 12volt micro lamps at radio shack. They come 2 in a pack and cost $1.99, It wasn't that hard to get out. You dont have to remove the the steering wheel or even the air bag, but you dont have much slack to work with. I made a 4 inch L- shaped hook out of coat hanger wire. to get to the switch. It will not leave a mark on the wheel or the buttons. You just slip it in at the bottom of the button and push it in till it stops, then turn it 90 degrees and slowly pull out the switch just till you can see the connector. Use a small screw driver to press the tab the locks the connector to the switch. now you can buy a replacement switch or pull apart the switch and solder new bulbs.

After you decide what you are going to do, either solder new bulbs or just replace the switch, you will need the help of a small screwdriver. use the screw driver to push the connector to the edge of the button cavity. when you have it half way in, use the little screw driver to push in the connector all the way to the switch till it locks, then just push the buttons back into the cavity. it took me about 20 minutes to pull it out, solder new bulbs, then reinstall them. If you just replace them with new switches, you should have it done in less than 5 minutes. I hope this helps
