Cruise control buttons on steering wheel
The owner's manual does not specifically tell you how to use the + and -large buttons below the cruise control on the steering wheel. The + worked once. I just got my 2012 Impala.
Any thoughts?

jtho53,
Were you able to see page 1-16 in the owners manual as well. The + is to be pressed briefly to resume to a previously set speed, or if you hold it down you will accelerate from your cruising speed. The - button is to decelerate from your cruising speed. If you press it once it will also set the speed once you have reached your desired speed for you would like to cruise. Hope this helps more.

Erica Tiffany, Thank you for your reply.
The actual cruise control cluster on the steering wheel works like a champ.
However the large buttons on the bottom side of the steering wheel are the ones that do not work. I have a 2012 base model Impala.
Thank you
John

If I am correct, those larger buttons should be for the radio volume...
The large + and - buttons BELOW the Cruise control buttons are NOT for the radio and are below the cruise control. In2pro I appreciate your input.
Ms tiffany they do not work at all.

Here is a capture from the 2012 Impala Owners manual... does this accurately represent the buttons you are referring too?
If Yes, then if the cruise control works and is enable the buttons should adjust the speed as Erica stated...If they are not working when the cruise is enabled then something is broken...
If no, then we need to understand why you have different buttons
If your buttons do look different, please do post a picture as that may help better answer what they do...

jtho53,
I apologize I did not see your post until now. Since they are not working, have you taken your vehicle into your Chevrolet dealership yet?

The mystery is over. I took my car to see Pat the Service Advisor at Munday
Chevrolet in Houston.
Those buttons have nothing to do with the Radio or the Cruise control, but with the transmission.
With the Transmission in low gear it can become a manual. There are 6
gear ranges that the buttons control. You can control from 1 to 6 and hold that gear if you are towing or in snow.
The Chevy Tahoe has the same feature when you shift into M.
Thank you Munday Chevrolet!
