Default stereo not very loud

I just bought a 2004 silverado ex-cab and it has a 6 disc cd player in it and if I am driving down the road with the windows down I can hardly hear the radio. The speakers sound good they are just not very loud. I really would rather not replace the stereo I like the factory radios I just want to be able to hear it. I was wanting to know if there is an amp or something that just needs to be turn up in order to hear it better? Or does anyone know if just replacing the speakers would take care of the problem.

replace it all man. Delco radios are crap unless it is a Bose setup then usually the speakers are good but the headunit is weak.

Check your auto volume. If its low or off then the radio is quieter.

set the auto speed volume to high and you will hear the difference, also if you fix the ac then you will roll up your windows and then you will improve the sound lol
