Default suddenly no dash or ac/heat backlight on my 95 K1500 - a question before dismantling

So yesterday evening the backlights for my speedo, tach, fuel and other gauges,
And the backlight for the heater and AC controls were working.
I just got finished changin my oil, then was gonna yake it for a spin
To see the true oil level so I turn my lights on (yes I am a tweeker, I change
My oil at night) but no dash lights.
My overhead lights work, my stereo light works (aftermarket CD deck)
And my main headlights work, but my parking lights do not work.
However, I have never used my parking lights and maybe because I
Have an aftermarket headlight assembly I do not have the parking light feature.

So anyway I check my fuses and they are all good which leads me to this question:
Is there just 1 lightbulb that provides backlight for everything on the dash,
Or is there a lightbulb for the main gauges, and another lightbulb for the heater and AC backlight?

I am thinking it is the bulb that has gone out, but I would like to know 1st how many
Bulbs there are for the dash stuff. If it is not a bulb, then I am thinking there
May be a problem with the lighting switch that controls the headlights and dash light brightness.

Oh, and yes I checked the brightness wheel, nothing happens.

Well I dove into it and found 1 light bulb out behind the dash - replaced it
I also replaced the headlight switch/dash dimmer module - still no lights
I also found a fuse that is out that I missed last night with the flashlight, it was the parking lamps fuse.
I replaced it and now all of my dash backlights work, but I can't tell if my temp control backlights are lit since the sun is out. But I will check again tonight to see

What fuse was this? I'm having a similar issue. When I hold down my power mirror's right-directional button, I have dash lights and parking lights. When I release pressure, they turn off. I'm guessing this goes farther than a fuse...

If you have an 88-98 and your fuse block is on the side of the dash facing the drivers door,
It is fuse #9 on mine that controls parking lamps and dash lights, but it only says it controls "PARK LPS"
And it should be a 20 amp fuse

allright, so i replaced the fuse for #9, and now my dash and parking lights work again! so thank you for that.

but now, when i toggle my power mirrors (fuse #3), my fuse #9 blows every time. I wasted 3 20 amps just now . So i have some issues with my electrical, that's for sure.

Hmm, well I wish my power mirrors worked. Luckily they never move by themselves and I am the
Only one that drives my truck so I never need to mess with them.

Does your fuse block have a jumper wire connecting #3 and #9?
If no, then somewhere where #9 and #3 meet there may be exposed wires that are touching
Eachother and maybe 1 of the wires is grounding out. I would get a multimeter and see if you
Get a ground to terminal 9 while using the mirror
