Question Sunlight Sensor

Was cleaning the dash today and the sunlight sensor fell into the dash.

Question is: Does the dash have to come out to install the sensor? or does the sensor get installed from the top?

This is that dome look sensorin the middle of the dash at the windshield.

Do you Know, Chevrolet Customer Service ?

it will be hard to pull it back up and lock it into place without removing the upper dash cover. if you can reach it and get the convex dome above the cover; it rotates to lock in positon. Removing the cover is easier in my opinion and a 10-15 min job when you have done one before.

GM Fixer,

Are you referring to a 2004 Silverado? I looked at your profile and that is the only vehicle I saw listed. If that’s not the vehicle you’re referring to, let me know.

Thank you,

Elizabeth, Chevrolet Customer Service
