2005 Chevy Silverado Z71 5.3L VinB

This is my first time trying this, but I figure I can handle it.

1. Is the filter and pan gasket the only parts I'll need for this?

2. About how many quarts should I expect to lose/replace?

3. I see there is a deep and shallow pan when I look up parts. How do I know which one I have?
