throttle response off the line isn't so great when you have a heavy vehicle like you've got....invest in some lower gears, headers, and a tune

I remeber the shift kits from years ago, but I thought the new computer transmissions could be reprogrammed. I do know the common wisdom is that the automatic transimission spends time in both gears while shifting to smooth out the shift. This causes more wear on the transmission than having a kit which essentially is a spacer that causes the shift to happen faster and be a bit more abrupt and cause a little jerk for the riders. This also is supposed to increase your mileage a bit because you don't have two gears fighting each other.
