Thanks for having me. I'm looking for help or the right direction. After seven years that's pretty good I guess.
In 2000 My father gave me his 90 gmc Sierra 4x4 1500. I believe it has the 5.7 v-8, sure of it.
I've had no real problems till last night. I don't drive it but maybe once every two months. It has 118k, I received it with 88k. I was trailering my boat last night when I got this loud tappping noise to the rear of the engine. The noise started loud then got soft, then at times can't hear it. But, still there. All the fluids are good and gauges read good. Power is good. Thinking of a bad lifter? Ball park costs and ideas?
