Default Tech Question

I see alot of guys take off the dryer hose looking thing that connects to their air filter. Is that safe and advisable?

Are you talking about something that goes from the fender to the airbox?

so they remove the intake plenum that leads to the air filter box, not the line from the filter to the engine.

I would at least screen the filter canister to keep large debris out. is it where water may enter if splashed??
