Default Thinking of buying new truck

The wife and I have narrowed it down to a 09 Chevy 1500 4door 4wheeldrive, or the Ford F150 4door 4wheeldrive, both with a long bed.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

My question is: have the problems with 99 to 05’s steering clunk (steering shaft noise/rattle) and shifting clunk (I’ve been told the driveshaft yoke to transfer case is the noise) been fixed on the newer models on the 1500 Chevys 4x4s? (some of you might have read our steering problem in the post below) We just want to make sure that the newer 1500 4x4 have had this problem repaired on the 09’s before we invest in another Chevy. Our 05 is a very nice truck and the wife doesn’t really want to get rid of it, but she doesn’t want to have any more problems either while out hunting by herself, or fishing for that matter. <o></o>

Thanks in advance for any and all help!!<o></o>

As far as I know those problems are taken care of. FYI, get the truck without the P**sy step and handle on the back!

My heart says go with the Chevy, but buying the Ford will assist in keeping me in a job for a while longer

I'd wait till '10 when the bankruptcy smoke clears at GM corporate level. That CAN"T be having a positive effect on the assembly line...
