Default Tire Size vs Rear End Torque

My 2005 Silverado Crew came with 245/70/17's. I up'ed the size to 265/70's. I noticed a slight and now with a little more age, loss of torque. I was told it was due to my upsizing of the rubber. Would the 1" hight difference really make me loose enough torque to be noticeable? Needing new tires again, and wondering if I should go with the original size?

my tire dealer told me to stay with the std size tire and wheel it you want to maintain you fuel mileage and power.

i have a 2500 that came with 245-75-16 load range E tires.

So i have and believe me I do not need any less fuel mileage with my 2500 series.
