Torsion bars 2500HD Specific question

I've got a 2003 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 (stock) and I've read alot of the posts about adjusting them and the measurements, don't go too far, etc....My question is..feels like the front end just bottoms out on the foam/rubber stop and there is no shock travel at all except for what maybe the tires absorb. There's still about 1"-1 1/2" of the torsion bar adjusting bolt to go yet. How much space should there be between the rubber stop and the frame? There is no space at all between the stop and the frame so it just seems to me there is no space for the shock to go up and down and soften the ride. Any comments on that?

I cranked mine all the way then turned them back 10 full rounds each, then immediately go get a front end allignment on it. Thats the way my buddy and i did mine and yes it rides a tad bit rougher but its a truck not a Cadillac.
