Tightening thekeys (clockwise) raises the torsion bars. It'll take a 18mm wrench/socketBe wary of t-bar lifts. If you lift it too high, you can damage the CV boots and put extra wear on the CV joints over time. Also a t-bar lift will typically dramatically decrease the ride quality.

The keys are located at the rear of the torsion bar?

The 'keys' (bolts) are located on the crossmemeber on the middle of the frame.Sorry for the crappy pic, but here is what I'm talking about. Pic is from the drivers side.Name: tbar.jpg

Thanks for the info! The Haynes repair manual wasn't clear enough about the adjustment of the torsion bars.

Adjusted torsion keys 6 turns and it has pretty well leveled out the SUB. Sittin' pretty now! Thanks for the info EuroGoldLS! The prior owner must have done a lot of trailer pulling. The bolts were hanging down from the cross members almost an inch! It was ready for Talladega!

I've heard adjusting the T-bars on a 5-10 year old truck is bad cause you can snap the T'bar right in two while you're going down the road.So would I be able to do this on my 92' Silverado or 94' Silverado and be ok?I don't want to torque them way up.I just want to level my truck out a little bit.Think this would be ok?
