I have a '95 1500, 350, 4l60E trans, stock size tries, and 3.43 gears. What kind of tow load will the drive train handle safely? I own a small enclosed trailer (maxxes out at 5,500lbs) and want to be sure my truck can handle the load. Thanks.

yeah, your truck should handle it fine but you should know your demon. meaning its your truck and no one else knows it like you. you shold be able to tell if there are any weak links in your drivetrain. brakes, weakshifts ect...

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.o...8d7abc2ab0e53f

check this site out, about all I could find on 1995 1/2 ton.

I have a 3/4 ton with 350 engine, 3.73 gears and it pulls 7100#. I pull about 6000# RV trailer and it handles it ok.

Remember, golden rule of towing:
Its not what you pull that counts, it's what you can stop!!!!

If traileris much over 3500=4000 # I would want trailer brakes.

Good luck,

I was lucky enough to find out (after I bought it)that my trailer has brakes on both axles not just one like other trailers the same size.
