I had to replace the shift cable on my 1998 Silverado 3/4 ton 4x4 with an automatic transmission. I can't seem to be able to get it adjusted correctly. I cannot get it adjusted to go into both low and reverse. I can get it to go into either one but not both. What might I have done wrong?

 

Adjust the cable with both the sector and the lever in the neutral position. You'll just beat yourself against a wall otherwise.
