Trying to service my trani please help
Ok i have been trying to replace the filter and fluid for my trani my truck is a 92 c2500 5.7 350TBI auto with no 4wd, i managed to get all the bolts loosened up when i realized i cant reach the back 2 because they are situated between the trani and the cross member as well as having the trani mount there 2, i tried to remove the trani mount to get at them and no go, and suggestions of something to try, my chilton guide omits that part, trying to avoid taking out the cross member.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if you are using a floor jack you can position it under the crank pulley and lift it up. But in order to make it worth your while I think you will have to remove the engine mount bolts. I have to do that also on my Suburban and I noticed that last week when I changed the motor oil. I was just going to remove the crossmember, it is only one bolt on each side. I have never done it on a RWD GM, but I am not even sure the whole thing has to come out. I will try to pull one out and loosen the other and see if it swivels to the side to allow access to the bolts on the rear of the pan.

I guess I mis spoke when I said jack up the engine. Put the jack under the tail housing of the trans. I have had some frames spring out making the cross member a bear to get back in is why I try to leave them in.
