Update to Glovebox Ticking/Rattling
Truck: 2001 Silverado
This must not be a very common problem as there was only one reply to the earlier post. I did happen to find a solution.
Symptom: Ticking/Clicking/Rattling noise from around glovebox area
Solution: There is a torsion spring located behind the flipping glovebox latch. That torsion spring hangs down and was not pushing hard enough against the back that latch. This resulted in a loose fitand wascausing the rattle. I removed an eraser head from a pencil and jammed it on the end of the hanging part of the torsion spring. Problem solved.
