I'm going to order a remote starter kit here in the next few weeks to a month and I know I need a Vats bypass kit, I installed one on a past 01 silverado and it was a pain in the @$$, and never seemed to work 100%

Can anyone recommend a nice, reasonably priced, simple and easy to wire bypass kit?

Hmm, it's Passlock on the 1998 K1500 pickup, the same as the 2001 Silverado. Are you sure yours is VATS?

 

yup your correct. it is passlock

 

I've heard good results with the DEI 555LW. At least it's not some noname Chinese junk.
