Wanted: 1997 Sierra 1500 Electrical Help
Found my battery dead after sitting for 2 days. Narrowed it down to fuse #19 (radio/batt.) drawing almost 1 amp. with everything turned off (checked obvious, glovebox light etc). Unpluging the connector on the radio drops current draw to zero. Thinking the radio must be at fault, (although it seems to work OK) Today I replaced it with a salvaged (tested) radio. Nothing changed, the #19 fuse still draws .9 amps. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! ($50.00 lighter)

Exactly. It was drawing .9 amps with everthing off. I (wrongly) assumed it was the AM-FM Cassette. When I unplugged the radio all was well, so I bought another. Switching them didn't fix the problem. I forgot to take the CD accesssory out of the equation. When I unplugged it from the radio the problem dissapeared . I'll pick up another in the future.
