Default Wanting to lift truck

Hey guys, I'm new to the truck scene. Picked up a new 2010 Silverado Z71 4X4 because I'll be going off road a lot with what I'm doing now. I'm wanting to put anywhere from 30-34" tires on the truck. I was wondering how big of a lift kit I'll need and what tires I should go with. Like I said I'm new to the truck scene. Please Help.

most 2" or more leveling kits out there will give you enough lift to fit a 33" tire and there are a ton out there ranging drastically in price, which is best? well that is a whole can of worms I won't get into. also as for tire recommendations are you looking for A/Ts or M/Ts? for A/Ts most will say nitto terra grapplers or toyos but I have read alot of bad things about their longevity. It would probably be helpful if you gave an idea of what you are looking to spend. but some that I would look into that are fairly priced are the general grabber 2s, cooper Discoverer S/Ts, goodyear wrangler dura-tracs (although I have heard a mixed bag about longevity), and at the expensive end of the spectrum mickey thompson baja ATZs. I hope this helps, let us know what you end up with!

a leveling kit will be great with 33s bcuz your trucks a z71 its already lifted a little bit.its also alot cheaper than lifting your truck.if u wanna go with a lift i would go with a 3inch suspension lift. that would look great with 34s or 35s. I got a 3inch suspension lift from rough country lifts and i love it

jurrster do you have a 3" lift with 35's? I have always been told that 35's only fit under a 6" lift unless you want to trim. I'd like to see some pics if you are running this set up if you dont mind Aaron

i do not have 35s. my silverado is only an 04 and a 2wd so it was already really low so after the lift i can only fit 33s. your truck is a newer model (which are made bigger) and is a z71 which comes with a stocked lift.if you go with a lift i would also get a leveling kit, makes it look alot better.if you dont want a leveling kit and your not sure if 35s will fit with just a lift, go with 33s, still will look great

When I went to check at NTB as well as Discount tire to see what tires i could get they said I had to lift it a minimum of 4" to fit a 33" inch tire on it. Are you positive that a two inch level would work? I can post pics of my truck if I need to. And Aaron, I'm probably going to want to go with M/T because the tread is usually beefier.

Cavan, I am positive 33's will fit w/ a 2" level, not to pimp another forum here but check out gmfullsize.com TONS of guys are running 33's without trimming with just a level, some with even bigger tire/wheel set-ups. I too just bought a 2010 Z71 and when I get the money I will be doing a level with either the new fox or general coil over kits. and I will be running 275/70r18 baja atzs on my stock 18" wheels. although alot of guys run 17" with the level I am not sure why that may be a good question to ask.
