i recently bought a 78 chevy k10 pickup. long bed fleetside it has a 12 bolt rear end th350 and a 454. its stock hight. im going to put a lift on it. besides that what else do i need to do to make a good offroader out of it? are half tons suitable for offroading?

 

Your truck should do fine off-road with a lift. I would swap the th350 for a th400 just to be safe.
