Noticed the other day that my front passenger floor mat was wet, further investigating showed the carpet and padding under were wet also. Directly under the passenger seat was dry as well as up under the dash. Behind the passenger seat in the seat well was very wet as well. Removed all seats, carpet and padding and can not find the source of the leack. Heater works fine, used hot defrost for the first time in about two years the other day, not sure if that has something to do with it. Any ideas? With the A/C running, I see water dripping from what appears to be the union in my catalytic converter to my exhaust pipe. Any ideas would be great

 

Does it smell like coolant?
I had coolant saturated in my Buick many years ago

 

Could be a bad heater core that is leaking, check your radiator for fluid loss.

 

No coolant smell and the coolant level is still full, definitely water but not sure where it is coming form. Heater and defroster both work fine and blow hot so I am leaning away from a heater core.

 

You didn't say how old your truck is but since you are Navy I would guess you are in an area where salt and corrosion is an issue. I have seen floors get wore and thin from rust and water get thrown up.

Another issue could be as simple as cleaning the holes out in the bottom of your doors to let the water drain through, sometimes they get clogged up.

Easiest thing to do though is get inside and have someone spray a hose at the truck from all angles and just watch and feel for water.

 

Truck is a 99 and I live in Florida. Water is definitely coming from under dash

What you may be experiencing is your

Air Conditioner condensate drip pan drain line

is clogged. It's a simple fix. Get a zip tie the right length,

or something comparable, find the drain hose at your

firewall on the passenger side in the engine compartment,

and gently break free the clog at the inside end of the hose.

I was an ST on a tin can out of 32nd St, myself.

 

therewolf, I used my shop vac last weekend and tried to blow and suck that mentioned drain tube but nothing seemed to move

 

When I had the problem, I found I had to gently push something

up the tube from the engine side of the firewall to break the crud free.

The problem has not re-occurred recently.
